Purpose:

The purpose of this position description is to provide an indication of the duties required of an Employment Consultant, the list of duties outlined in the description is not exhaustive.

The position description will be used as a tool for undertaking annual performance reviews.

In additional to the duties specified within this position description the Employee is required to undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Employer

  • A demonstrated consistent level of high quality customer service to all cliental (Employers, Job Seekers, Community Stakeholders, Other Organisations and Government Departments
  • High level of professionalism and personal presentation
  • Active participation in the team, acknowledging that we are all entitled to different opinions
  • Recognition that we are all entitled to courteous and respectful communications at all times
  • Open and honest communication

-          Any employment issues need to be raised with us quickly for us to effectively resolve them

-          Any suggestions and/or recommendations will be assessed on their merits

 

Overall Description:

The role of an employment consultant is to gain Job Seekers successful and meaningful employment.

Requirements of the Position:

  • Current Valid Full Drivers License
  • Commitment to upholding Ostara, DEWER and DES contractual requirements and professional outcomes

Specific Daily Tasks:

Job Seekers

Meet face to face with Job Seekers at least every 10 days and file note meetings;

Strive to develop and maintain positive and productive relationships with job seekers;

Identify any barriers to employment; address the barriers as appropriate assisting job seekers to become ‘work ready’;

Assess Job Seeker needs; identify employment opportunities based on their skills, abilities, interests and desires;

Manage Job Seeker’s expectations if appropriate;

Indentify suitable training and education opportunities as a means to assist Job Seekers to gain meaningful employment, ensure training is relevant and realistic in relation to employment opportunities, and that it will positively increase the chances of finding the job seeker secure employment;

Organise Training opportunities which take into consideration Job Seekers skills, interests and current market conditions;

Where applicable identify suitable external and internal programmes for Job Seekers and refer accordingly;

Ensure appropriate documentation is completed and Job Seekers privacy rights are upheld;

Liaise with other organisations when required, including advising Centelink of any breeches or non compliance by a Job Seeker;

Assist Job Seekers to complete employment related documentation;

Notify Job Seekers of their obligations under the employment service agreement, to ensure they are meeting their obligations.

Employers

Liaise with Reverse Marketer/Business Development Officer in relation to suitable job vacancies at least every two days

Indentify and put forward any suitable potential candidates to apply for employment vacancies identified by the Reverse Marketer/Business Development Officer;

Indentify potential employment opportunities for Job Seekers –among other ways, this may be done by searching Job Vacancies;

Reverse Market Job Seekers to potential employers.

Post Placement Support

Weekly contact with Employee, Employer or Reverse Marketer (whichever is appropriate dependent on circumstances);

Accurate and complete file notes on all contacts;

Assist parties to establish and maintain a mutually beneficial employment relationship;

Endeavour to ensure Job Seeker maintains employment for 13, 26 weeks.

How success will be measured:

Consistently meeting any individual KPI’s and targets as set by Team Leader;

Striving as part of a Team to ensure the site KPI’s are met;

Audits of client files will reveal up to date and accurate file noting practises;

Strong relationship with clients;

All absences are authorised and required supporting documentation provided;

Demonstrated commitment to upholding Ostara’s policies and procedures:

-          Attendance and demonstrated understanding at training sessions

-          Acting in accordance with them in a relevant situation

-          Following proper procedure when a relevant situation arises

-          Commitment to Health and Safety/Actively contributing to in weekly H& S meetings

Other entitlements/training:

Use of site cars within business hours for work related purposes

Additional requirements:

A requirement of your role is to drive a company vehicle; as such you will be required to gain and maintain Company Authorisation.

The process of Authorisation is as follows:

-          Copy of Drivers License given to Company

-          Vehicle policy, received and understood

-          Vehicle policy attestation form returned to Company
