Indigenous Employment Program
In 2008 the Australian Government committed to closing the gap between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in six key areas, including employment participation. The Australian Government aims to halve the gap in Indigenous employment participation by 2018. Ostara Australia is firmly committed to assisting the Government to achieve this target.
Ostara Australia is a member of the Indigenous Employment Program Employment Panel. The Indigenous Employment Panel delivers the following services:
- Building the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples;
- Organising, developing or providing training in work familarisation;
- Providing employment support services to increase recruitment and retention rates;
- Increase employment outcomes through workforce development.
Ostara Australia is proud to partner with A.R.T Employment, an Aboriginal owned and managed company, which was established in 2011 to develop and implement innovative training and employment models of national significance. The program is supported by a full-time mentor from A.R.T Employment to guide Indigenous job seekers through training and then into the workforce.
